Job summary

Mastery Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional in Camden to support students with academic and social-emotional growth under the direction of the lead classroom teacher. You will reinforce instruction, assist with behavior management, and support daily classroom operations across settings, including lunch and play areas.

The role requires an associate degree or 60 credits (NJ) or ParaPro score, with preference for prior school experience and a collaborative spirit.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 60 NJ credits (PA 48 credits) or passing ParaPro score.
• Experience in a school setting or with students receiving special education services preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced educational setting.

Responsibilities

• Support learning by reinforcing instruction and assisting with small-group interventions.
• Help manage student behavior positively across all settings (inclusion, lunch, play).
• Assist with personal care tasks (feeding, toileting, hygiene) as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment and sanitize materials.
• Provide hands-on assistance with activities and differentiated instruction.
• Monitor and document student progress as directed by the lead teacher.
• Collaborate with educators, therapists, and support staff to promote student success.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support student learning and classroom operations.
