Job summary

Chariton Community School District is seeking a Paraeducator at Van Allen Elementary to support students with and without disabilities in classrooms, buses, and common areas under a Classroom Teacher or Building Administrator. This is a part-time, nine-month position with duties across classroom support, student interaction, and collaboration with staff.

The role requires an AA, CDA, or Paraeducator certification (or willingness to obtain) and CCSD trainings, with potential license requirements

Qualifications

• Must have AA, CDA, or Paraeducator certification, or willingness to obtain.
• CCSD trainings include Bloodborne Pathogens, Chariton Code of Conduct, Chariton Tobacco & Substance Abuse, Right to Know, Medication Authorization, Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter, Adverse Childhood Experiences: From Toxic Environmental Stresses to Success and Suicide Prevention and Postvention.
• If required, must obtain Class D Chauffeur’s license with a passenger endorsement (Endorsement 3), and appropriate screenings & DOT training.
