Job summary

New England Veterinary Center & Cancer Care (NEVCCC) is seeking a Part-Time Overnight Emergency Veterinarian in Windsor, Connecticut. The role focuses on comprehensive exams, diagnostic workups, surgeries, and compassionate patient care within a collaborative team.

The position offers flexible scheduling options with a strong support structure from a national resource network and a locally led care team. State licensure and DEA registration are required along with emergency-practice experience.

Qualifications

• Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university.
• Current State Veterinary License.
• DEA registration must be obtained and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive patient exams and medical work-ups.
• Client communication and education.
• Performing diagnostic procedures and surgery.
• Maintaining accurate medical records.
• Pharmacy duties including prescribing medications and CS protocols.
• Promote teamwork and staff efficiency.
• Work with Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations.
• Evaluate and monitor hospital protocols from intake to discharge.
