Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for surgery by reviewing medical history, allergies, medications, and consents.
• Verify patient identity, procedure, site, and documentation per safety protocols.
• Complete preoperative nursing assessments and documentation.
• Educate patients and family members about the surgical process.
• Assist with patient positioning and transport to the operating room.
• Function as the circulating nurse during procedures.
• Maintain a sterile operating room environment and coordinate equipment.
• Assist with room turnover and recovery transfers.
