Job summary

MARYLAND AMBULATORY SURGERY CENTER in Lanham, MD seeks a part-time Operating Room Nurse for two 10-hour days (Thursday and Friday). You will support surgeons, anesthesiologists and OR staff, ensuring patient safety, sterile technique and effective care before, during, and after procedures.

The role requires an active RN license, 2+ years OR experience, and strong communication skills. Preferred CNOR, RN degree, EMR experience, and familiarity with robotic/minimally invasive procedures.

Qualifications

• Active nursing license in the state of employment.
• At least 2 years of experience as an Operating Room Nurse.
• Knowledge of surgical procedures and patient care best practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for surgery by cleaning and disinfecting incision sites, positioning patients on the operating table, and covering them with sterile surgical drapes.
• Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, holding retractors, and cutting sutures.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and alert the surgical team to any changes or concerns.
• Administer medications and fluids as directed by the surgical team.
• Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment after each procedure.
