Job summary

Carlsbad Optometry is seeking a part-time fill-in Optometrist in Carlsbad, CA. You will perform comprehensive eye exams, discuss results, and prescribe solutions while supporting patient education and eye health.

You’ll work with advanced instruments like Optos, HERO Visual Field Headset, OCT, and auto phoropter, in a collaborative clinic environment. A flexible schedule with PTO coverage is offered to qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry degree and licensure to practice in California.
• 1–3 years of clinical practice; new graduates encouraged.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
• Leadership, organizational abilities, and professional conduct emphasized.

Responsibilities

• Part-time fill-in coverage with a minimum of one 8-hour shift per month.
• Care for approximately 16–22 patients per day with comprehensive eye exams.
• Recommend vision-enhancing solutions and promote long-term eye health.
• Experience with specialty contact lenses, myopia management, and glaucoma treatment is a plus and will support diverse patient care.
• Use modern technology (Optos, HERO headset, OCT, auto phoropter) to deliver thorough exams.
• Collaborate with an experienced team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
