Job summary

PsyPhyCare in Vergennes, VT is seeking a part-time Primary Care Physician to deliver on-site medical services within a federally supported residential youth program.

The physician will provide comprehensive primary care to students aged 16–24, collaborate with the Health & Wellness Department and nursing staff, and maintain accurate clinical documentation in a compliant, community-based setting.

Hours are roughly 8.8 per week, with no weekends, on-site in Vergennes during center operating hours.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active Vermont Physician license and be able to practice independently.
• Current DEA registration.
• Current CPR/AED certification.
• Active malpractice/professional liability insurance and general liability insurance.
• Experience in adolescent health, family medicine, or similar clinical settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive on-site primary care services to enrolled students.
• Maintain an active presence within the Health & Wellness Department.
• Conduct cursory medical evaluations within 48 hours of student entry.
• Perform physical examinations and routine preventive care.
• Order, review, and oversee required entry laboratory studies and vaccinations.
• Administer and oversee immunizations including boosters and Mantoux testing.
• Perform vision and hearing screenings and treat acute/chronic conditions.
• Provide prescriptions in coordination with nursing staff and the Center Mental Health Consultant.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary staff and refer to specialists when needed.
• Promote preventive health education and maintain compliant documentation.
