Job summary

Chapman Management Group is seeking a part-time Maintenance Technician to support daily operations and upkeep of our properties in the Washington D.C. area.

The role covers preventive, routine, responsive, and emergency maintenance to ensure a safe and well-maintained environment for residents and staff. The technician will handle plumbing and electrical repairs, HVAC maintenance, and routine inspections while coordinating with the Property Manager.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of building maintenance experience.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English; bilingual preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and current auto insurance.
• Availability to work overtime, weekends, and non-traditional holidays while on call.
• Ability to comply with safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the overall condition of the property to ensure a safe, clean environment.
• Complete work orders efficiently and accurately.
• Communicate professionally with residents about maintenance activities.
• Perform plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and routine preventive maintenance.
• Prepare apartments for turnover and coordinate cleaning services.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in after-hours on-call rotation.
• Supervise temporary staff and oversee vendor work.
• Maintain inventory levels of supplies and parts.
