Job summary

SVSU Saginaw Valley State University is seeking an on-call, part-time Custodial Pool staff member to maintain cleanliness and appearance of interior university facilities. Hours are as needed and may vary, with a typical 5-hour shift.

Responsibilities include cleaning, restocking, securing facilities, and supporting other custodial staff. Valid driver license may be required for some schedules; high school diploma or equivalent required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with others.
• Ability to work alone or as part of a team and meet time requirements.
• Ability to work different shifts and follow safety procedures.
• Physical ability to perform custodial tasks and pass tests as required.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned areas according to schedules and methods; duties include sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and surface cleaning.
• Restock restrooms and other areas with paper products and supplies.
• Lock/unlock doors and turn off lights as needed.
• Remove debris and maintain entrances by clearing snow/ice.
• Complete special cleaning projects as assigned.
