Job Summary

In collaboration with Florida Power and Light and Cox Science Center and Aquarium, Loggerhead Marinelife Center oversees the Retail operations at Manatee Lagoon and Cox Science Center and Aquarium. A member of the retail team, the Part Time Sales Associate, is responsible for sales execution and providing outstanding shopping experience for our customers. This position may be dependent upon to open and close the store as needed, with all deposit and opening/closing procedures followed strictly and consistently. Receiving merchandise and stocking the store with merchandise as needed are requirements as well. Furthermore, there is the opportunity to work at multiple locations as requested.

Core Responsibilities

• Achieve and exceed sales goals
• Maintain customer service standards to the highest possible level
• Take responsibility in coordination with the Store Manager & Director of Retail Operations of all tasks leading to the productivity and profitability of the store
• Maintain the highest level of security and safety awareness in the store
• Consistently work to be knowledgeable in areas of product, merchandising, customer service, and sales goals/objectives
• In coordination with the Store Manager and Director of Retail Operations, participate in the execution of effectively receiving and merchandising inventory
• Have thorough knowledge of sales floor and stockroom organization
• Maintain constant cleanliness of all areas of the store and maintain standards
• Responsible for maintaining communication with Store Manager & Director of Retail
• Ability to problem-solve, troubleshoot, and understand POS and all systems
• Responsible for all activities within the store in the absence of Store Manager or Director
• Ability to work shifts on weekends and holidays according to the needs of the store
• Flexibility to work in multiple of our store locations

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

• College Degree in Business or related field is preferred

This is an hourly non-exempt position. The successful incumbent may be required to perform tasks beyond the scope of this job description as requested by the supervisor. This recruitment may be used to select candidates for additional open positions. It is our policy that all team members, including newly hired, transferred, and promoted team members, will be carefully monitored and evaluated for an initial introductory 3-month period on the job. After satisfactory completion of the introductory evaluation, such team members will be evaluated on an annual basis.
