Job summary

Lakewood Healthcare seeks an Occupational Therapist (PT/PRN) to provide direct patient care in the rehabilitation department. You will evaluate patients, develop treatment plans with physician approvals, and supervise assistants as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include documenting outcomes, coordinating with families and staff, and contributing to rehab conferences. Requires OT degree and CPR certification with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of occupational therapy evaluation and treatments.
• Ability to supervise and direct assistants and aides.
• Understanding of physical modalities in Occupational Therapy.
• Knowledge of prosthetic/orthotic devices and assistive devices.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to work with all levels of patients.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and therapy according to facility procedures.
• Perform accurate patient evaluations and develop treatment plans with physician approvals.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and aides in direct care.
• Document treatment notes, progress, and discharge summaries in medical records.
• Communicate patient progress with supervisor and health team members.
• Instruct families and nursing staff on follow-through programs.
• Assess and train ADL equipment to promote independence.
• Integrate interdisciplinary team findings into treatment recommendations.
• Contribute to rehab team conferences and staff training.
