Job summary

UMKC Student Health and Wellness Center seeks a Part-Time Nurse Practitioner to join our team, supporting evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions for a diverse student population. You’ll assess, diagnose, and manage patients, including mental health and reproductive health, within Advanced Practice Nursing scope.

You will engage in quality assurance, present health programs on campus, and participate in committees while collaborating with Counseling, Health, Testing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required.
• NP preparation in Master's program or equivalent required.
• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Missouri required.
• Certification as a Nurse Practitioner required.
• BLS Certification required.
• Experience with EMR systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients, including mental health, sexual and reproductive health, and other acute & chronic conditions, within the scope of Advanced Practice Nursing.
• Participate in quality assurance programs for health services.
• Present health and wellness programs as part of campus outreach, including orientations.
• Participate in University meetings, projects, and committees as assigned.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff and function as an integral team member within the department and Student Affairs Division.
• Exercise independent judgement in medical practice and consult when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
