Job summary

Beechnau Elementary is seeking a Part Time Non Instructional Paraprofessional to supervise recess and lunch and to cover the front office during staff lunch breaks. The position runs 10:45am–1:45pm, Monday through Friday, starting August 2026.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and supporting students with basic needs. A high school diploma or equivalent is required and prior experience with children is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students on the playground and in the cafeteria to ensure safety and diffuse disruptions.
• Monitor playground to prevent unauthorized persons on school grounds.
• Assist students with personal care needs and administer basic first-aid when needed.
• Contact the office for all emergency situations (student, staff, unauthorized persons).
• Report incidents to administration (discipline, accidents, etc.).
• Professionally answer the phone and assist staff, students, and parents in the front office.

The Part Time Non Instructional Paraprofessional at Beechnau Elementary will provide recess and lunch supervision of students and also oversee the office for staff lunch coverage. This is a part-time position that will require the candidate to work 10:45am - 1:45pm Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise students on the playground and in the cafeteria to make sure all students are safe while diffusing potential disruptions of playground activities and/or injury to students or staff
• Monitors playground for the purpose of ensuring unauthorized persons are not on school grounds in violation of school and district policies
• Assists students with personal care needs/administer basic first-aid (band-aids, ice pack)
• Contact the office for all emergency situations (student, staff, unauthorized persons)
• Reports incidents (e.g. discipline, accidents, inappropriate social behavior, violations of building rules, etc.) to administration
• Professionally answer the phone and door along with assisting staff, students, and parents with needs while covering in the front office
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience working with children preferred
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
