The Pines at Placerville Healthcare Center is seeking a Part-Time NOC Shift Registered Nurse (RN) to lead the overnight nursing team and provide direct resident care. You will supervise RNs, LVNs, CNAs, and collaborate with physicians to respond to changes in condition while ensuring safe, compassionate, high‑quality care.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current, active, and unrestricted California RN license.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and clinical decision‑making skills.
  • Knowledge of nursing practices, procedures, and regulations applicable to skilled nursing/long‑term care.

The Pines at Placerville Healthcare Center is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and team-oriented Part-Time NOC Shift Registered Nurse (RN) to join our nursing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an RN who enjoys overnight nursing, values teamwork, and is confident making sound clinical decisions while providing leadership and support to nursing staff. On the NOC shift, you’ll help ensure our residents receive safe, compassionate, high-quality care throughout the night. You’ll lead the nursing team, monitor resident conditions, respond to changes in condition, oversee medications and treatments, and help create a positive, peaceful environment for our residents.

Position Overview The RN is responsible for supervising and coordinating nursing activities during the assigned NOC shift in accordance with applicable regulations, professional standards, and facility policies. The RN provides direct resident care as needed while serving as a clinical resource and leader for the nursing team. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical judgment, professionalism, organization, communication, and a genuine commitment to resident well‑being.

Key Responsibilities
NOC Shift Leadership
  • Supervise the nursing team and coordinate resident care throughout the overnight shift.
  • Help ensure appropriate staffing and assignments for RNs/LVNs and CNAs.
  • Provide guidance, support, and direction to nursing staff.
  • Make sound independent clinical decisions and respond appropriately to changing resident conditions.
  • Conduct rounds and monitor residents' physical, emotional, and clinical status.
  • Maintain a calm, respectful, and positive environment throughout the shift.
  • Communicate important resident and staffing information to the Director of Nursing and incoming shift.
Resident Care
  • Provide compassionate, resident-centered nursing care.
  • Assess residents and promptly recognize and respond to changes in condition.
  • Notify physicians and responsible parties of significant changes as appropriate.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to orders, care plans, and facility policies.
  • Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules for accuracy and completion.
  • Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation.
  • Perform vital signs, assessments, IV starts, and specimen collection as ordered and within scope of practice.
  • Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed.
  • Monitor residents requiring increased observation or clinical attention.
  • Work with residents and families to address questions, concerns, and care needs.
  • Promote resident dignity, safety, comfort, and quality of life.
Compliance, Safety & Quality
  • Follow facility policies, nursing standards, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Protect resident privacy and confidential health information and maintain HIPAA compliance.
  • Complete required reports and documentation, including accident/incident reports.
  • Promote infection prevention, proper hand hygiene, PPE use, and safe nursing practices.
  • Ensure nursing staff follow established safety, sanitation, emergency, and infection‑control procedures.
  • Participate in quality assurance, care planning, and performance improvement activities as assigned.
  • Report safety concerns, equipment issues, occupational exposures, or other concerns according to facility policy.
Teamwork & Communication
  • Collaborate effectively with CNAs, LVNs, RNs, physicians, therapy staff, and other departments.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with residents, families, staff, and leadership.
  • Support a culture of teamwork, accountability, and mutual respect.
  • Provide guidance and encouragement to nursing staff.
  • Participate in staff meetings, committees, in‑service training, and continuing education as required.

Qualifications

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current, active, and unrestricted California RN license.
  • Current CPR certification.

  • Knowledge of nursing practices, procedures, and regulations applicable to skilled nursing/long‑term care.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect resident information.
  • Ability to meet applicable physical and job‑related requirements.

Preferred

  • 2+ years of nursing experience, preferably in skilled nursing or long‑term care.
  • Previous NOC/overnight nursing experience.
  • Charge nurse, supervisory, or leadership experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with PCC or comparable electronic medical record systems.
  • Experience with care planning, quality assurance, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance.
  • Training or experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
Physical & Work Requirements
  • The RN must be able to move throughout the facility and perform the physical requirements associated with resident care, including standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and assisting with resident mobility as required.
  • The position involves working in a healthcare environment with potential exposure to infectious materials, bodily fluids, cleaning agents, medical equipment, and other workplace hazards.
  • Appropriate safety and infection‑control practices must be followed at all times.
