Southwestern College is seeking part-time instructors to teach listed Music courses across multiple campuses and modalities. Applicants should indicate which course(s) they can teach and be prepared for online DEFT certification if assigned to online sections.
Degrees required include Master’s in music or Bachelor’s in music with a Master’s in humanities, or the equivalent. Foreign degrees may require evaluation by a NACES member.
Applications for Part-Time Instructor pools are continually accepted (unless otherwise specified) by the District. They will be added to the application pool for review by hiring authorities on an as-needed basis. Should you be invited for an interview, you will be contacted by a District representative.

Lecture Classes may be offered at multiple campuses and in various modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, and online). If a course is offered online, completion of a 5-week Distance Education Faculty Training (DEFT) certification will be required prior to staffing (compensation available); or proof of a District approved Distance Education training course may be accepted in lieu of DEFT. Master’s in music

Additional assessment is required for applicants with foreign degrees from colleges or universities outside of the United States. Applicants must have their coursework evaluated by a professional association that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) and must submit a copy of the evaluation with the application.
