Job summary

The City of Saint Charles is seeking a part-time Media Production Assistant to support communications by producing high-quality multimedia content, including photography, video, editing, and live broadcasts. The role informs, engages, and represents the St. Charles community across multiple platforms.

This position is part-time (not to exceed 1499 hours annually and no benefits) with a flexible schedule to cover city events and public meetings.

Qualifications

• One year of multimedia experience (video, photography and editing) in a professional and/or academic environment.
• Strong organization, good communication, and a willingness to learn.
• Valid Driver's License

Responsibilities

• Capture high-quality photos and b-roll for City events, programs, and departments.
• Shoot, edit, and format short-form videos for social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube).
• Set up, operate, and monitor audio/video equipment for live broadcasts of City Council and meetings.
• Photograph community events for use in print and digital publications.
• Operate cameras, audio equipment, lighting, and related production technology.
• Organize, tag, and archive the City's digital media library.
• Coordinate shoots and schedules with City staff and departments.
