Job summary

Bezos Academy is hiring a part-time Assistant Teacher (Float) to support our Mesa preschool. The role involves floating support across classrooms, supervising meals and daily activities, and assisting in operations for a Montessori-inspired program offered at no cost to families.

Pay ranges from $19 to $22 per hour, with starting pay $19. Benefits include paid sick time and a 401(k) with employer matching. Work schedule is around 11:00am-3:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Age 18 with high school diploma or GED.
• Six or more months of prior work experience in childcare, education, or a related setting.
• Pass background checks, TB screenings, and state-required trainings.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Reliable transportation to and from work; punctuality.
• Valid Food Handler's Permit or willing to obtain one.
• Complete 20 hours onboarding within seven days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a floating assistant teacher, providing support wherever the school needs it each day.
• Independently supervise children in classrooms and other settings (arrival/departure, transitions, outdoor, nap time, extended hours).
• Maintain accurate child and family records.
• Complete Montessori basics training and credentialing/licensing requirements within seven days of hire.
