Job summary

Assumption University in Massachusetts seeks one or two part-time adjunct instructors for the Spring 2027 semester to teach BIO340 lecture and BIO340L lab. The BIO340 lecture meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:30 to 11:20am; BIO340L lab meets Wednesdays from 1:30 to 4:30pm.

Courses run Jan 19 through May 10, including finals week. Candidates may teach one or both sections and will be compensated at the full-course rate.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be willing to contribute actively to the mission of the University and to uphold the Catholic and Assumptionist identity of Assumption University.
• Typically hold a PhD in Biology; ABD candidates with prior teaching experience will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Teach BIO340 lecture (Mon/Wed/Fri 10:30–11:20am) and BIO340L lab (Wed 1:30–4:30pm) in the spring 2027 semester.
• Collaborate with the department and teaching team to provide quality instruction and assessment.
• Provide office hours, support for Brightspace, and participate in student advising as needed.
