Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) seeks an Adjunct Faculty – Millwright in the Division of Technical Education for a part-time role in Baton Rouge, LA. Responsibilities include teaching courses, maintaining office hours, advising students, and upholding college policies.

Candidates should have at least 3 years of relevant experience and be prepared to teach evenings or weekends as needed. Preferred qualifications include electrical experience, industry certifications, and an Associate Degree

Qualifications

• 3 years of relevant experience.
• Advanced: Written and oral communication skills presenting ideas effectively to individuals/groups.
• Proficient: Organizational skills and ability to convey knowledge to students clearly.
• Basic: Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
• Preferred: Electrical experience and industry-based certifications.

Responsibilities

• Teaching: provide learning experiences aligned to student needs; follow master course syllabi; maintain a minimum of 10 office hours per week; meet all scheduled classes; advise students and assist with registration; ensure accurate grades and records; maintain IBC/accreditation requirements; maintain current AWS/NCCER certifications.
• Administrative: attend department/division meetings; comply with professional standards; participate in faculty evaluation.
• Service: contribute to college and discipline; engage with the community and industry.
• Professional Development: engage in ongoing pedagogical development and assessment activities.
• Other Duties as Assigned: perform any additional tasks as directed.
