Job summary

The Michaels Companies operates over 1,300 stores nationwide and is seeking a Part Time Merchandise Manager in Oswego, IL. You will drive merchandising execution, stock management, and pricing integrity while supporting a strong store culture and customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Store Manager in leading and managing SOPs and Company programs to ensure compliance with laws and requirements.
  • Ensure execution of Company policies and standards, holding team accountable for store conditions and results.
  • Provide Manager-on-Duty (MOD) coverage, maintaining floor leadership, service standards, and operational continuity.
  • Lead truck execution processes, unloading, sorting, and flow of merchandise to the sales floor.
  • Own workload planning and daily task prioritization, aligning staffing with business needs.
  • Execute Store-In-Stock Optimization (SISO) routines to drive in-stock levels and replenishment accuracy.
  • Oversee Planogram (POG) execution, ensuring merchandising sets are completed on schedule.
  • Establish and maintain visual merchandising standards and product presentation.
  • Support a clean, organized store environment including backroom organization and floor recovery.
  • Manage inventory control, stock movement, and product integrity.
  • Execute ad sets, signage, and product placement to be compliant and customer focused.
  • Oversee Ship from Store fulfillment processes for accurate picking/packing/shipping.
  • Process RTVs and ASN receiving with proper inventory adjustments.
  • Manage store damages procedures to reduce shrink and ensure proper reporting.
  • Train, coach, and develop team members through onboarding and ongoing skill-building.
  • Partner to maintain Asset Protection practices to reduce shrink.
