Job summary

Decatur County Rural Electric Membership Corp is seeking a part-time Member Service Representative to be the primary contact for members, handling account questions and payments while supporting service orders and transfers.

The role involves selling broadband services, answering inquiries, and resolving Tier 1 tech issues. Candidates should have a high school diploma, customer service experience, and money-handling skills. This position offers in-person interaction in Greensburg, IN.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist and help members by telephone or in person to provide information and answer account questions.
• Process member payments through cash register, drive-up window, or night deposit.
• Initiate and close account transfers, reconnects, disconnects and new service orders.
• Initiate service orders for tree work, security lights and other miscellaneous items.
• Perform office support functions.
• Complete gas applications, transfers, job sheets, obtain lease agreements and SPCs.
• Sell broadband services and describe features, benefits, and value to customers.
• Handle Tier 1 trouble ticket calls and troubleshoot to resolution.

The Member Service Representative is the primary point of contact for members and is responsible for processing member account activity as well as interacting with members to address their account questions.

Part-time position, 3 days week, M, W, F (days may fluctuate occasionally)

Essential Functions

• Support members by telephone or in person to provide information and/or answer general member account questions.
• Process member payments through cash register, drive-up window, or night deposit.
• Initiate and close account transfers, reconnects, disconnects and new service orders.
• Initiate service orders for tree work, security lights and other miscellaneous items.
• Perform office support functions.
• Complete gas applications, transfers, job sheets, obtain lease agreements and SPCs.
• Responsible for assisting and selling broadband services to customers. Describe the features, benefits and value of broadband product offerings and services.
• Responsible for taking Tier 1 trouble ticket calls from customers and troubleshooting to identify appropriate resolution.

Education And/Or Experience

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have an equivalent of the following education and/or experience.

• A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required
• 2 years of customer service, sales and computer knowledge.
• 1 year experience handling money in a business environment
