Job summary

A.T. Still University's Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine is seeking a part-time adjunct to teach Spanish for the Health Professions in Kirksville, MO. Classes meet one night a week from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm during Fall and Spring terms.

The incumbent will manage classroom and online resources, develop practicum exams, coach students through standardized patient encounters, and participate in program expansion including recruitment of students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree plus post-graduate studies in Spanish-related major.
• Three to five years related experience.
• Experience conducting college-level courses.
• Intimate knowledge of Spanish as it relates to medical contexts.
• Knowledge of medical vocabulary in Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Manage online Medical Spanish learning modules and resources.
• Assist in recruiting students for Medical Spanish course.
• Plan for ongoing course development and sustainability.
• Conduct approximately ten 1-hour live conversations per quarter.
• Complete student performance assessments and report grades quarterly.
• Support development of pilot course and program expansion.
