Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's Degree in linguistics, translation, or healthcare with at least 3 years of medical interpretation experience.
• 3 years of relevant experience in medical interpretation is required.
• 2 years of general experience in healthcare settings is required.
• Master's degree is preferred with 5 years of medical interpretation experience.

Responsibilities

• Interpret during medical consultations, procedures, and patient education sessions with mental/behavioral health focus.
• Translate written medical documents and patient education materials, ensuring accuracy and cultural relevance.
• Advocate for patients' linguistic and cultural needs within the healthcare system.
• Provide staff training on effective use of interpreter services and stay current with terminology.
• Maintain records of interpretation services and coordinate with the interpreter team; participate in QA initiatives.
• Engage in community outreach and emergency interpretation as needed.
