Job summary

Power Wellness is seeking a part-time Fitness Assistant at Delnor Health & Fitness Center to deliver exceptional member service and maintain a safe, clean fitness floor.

You will schedule fitness assessments and orientations, supervise the floor, provide basic instruction, respond to medical emergencies with AED, promote ancillary services, and support facility operations and member retention efforts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Currently enrolled in a health-related program pursuing a bachelor's degree preferred.
• Previous part-time work experience or internship in fitness is preferred.
• Must be outgoing, personable and able to motivate members and teach classes.
• CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire (provided by Power Wellness).
• Nationally recognized NCCA accreditation preferred.
• Certification for specialty group exercise classes may be required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee interactions on the fitness floor and maintain a safe environment.
• Schedule appointments for fitness assessments, orientations, and follow-ups.
• Provide supervision, orientations, and basic exercise instruction.
• Respond as first responder to medical emergencies; document incidents.
• Assist in planning and implementing member retention programs.
• Promote and sell ancillary services (training, wellness programs, nutrition).
• Stay informed about events and activities at the center.
• Perform regular facility rounds to monitor pools, lockers, and fitness areas.
• Open and close procedures on weekdays, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
• Maintain cleanliness; inspect equipment and report repairs.
• Support other duties as assigned.
