Job summary

Patient First in Virginia Beach is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant (Phlebotomist) to perform vital signs, phlebotomy, and basic patient care in a busy clinical setting.

You will use the EMR, assist nurses and physicians, and help maintain treatment areas; CPR training is preferred and prior clinical experience is valued. This role requires teamwork, reliability, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a hospital or physician’s office preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to hear pages, bells and phone system.
• Willingness to work at any center due to staffing needs.

Responsibilities

• Locate patients and obtain accurate vital signs.
• Perform phlebotomy procedures and basic lab duties.
• Assist Nurses and Physicians with patient care and treatment.
• Operate, use and maintain medical and office equipment as trained.
• Maintain cleanliness of treatment areas and restock supplies.
• Notify Nurse/Physician when patient is ready for exam and relay questions.
