Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for Med Surg at Great Bend Hospital. This part-time position offers days or nights and supports patient advocacy and coordinated care with the health care team.

Responsibilities include assessing patients, documenting care, following physician orders, and contributing to safe, high-quality nursing services for pediatric to geriatric patients. LPN licensure and BLS are required and must be maintained.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, with renewal as needed.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensed by State Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient assessments and plans care accordingly.
• Documents nursing care accurately and in a timely manner.
• Administers medications and assists with procedures per physician orders.
• Collaborates with the health care team to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality patient care.
• Participates in mandatory inservices and staff meetings.
