Job summary

Passaic County Community College's Math Learning Lab is seeking dedicated part-time tutors who believe in every student's ability to learn mathematics and provide supportive learning environments. Tutors assist students in developmental and college-level mathematics courses, including Statistics, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and other math topics as needed.

This is a part-time, hourly position with compensation determined by experience and education.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Statistics, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus.
• Bachelor's Degree or higher.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas.
• Availability for part-time hours as per the tutoring schedule.

Responsibilities

• Tutors assist students in developmental and college-level mathematics courses, including Statistics, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and other mathematics topics as needed.
• Serve as facilitators of learning through compassionate rigor, purposeful questioning, and appropriate scaffolding.
• Foster conceptual understanding, mathematical confidence, and independent learning.
• Provide academic support to students enrolled in mathematics courses.
