Job summary

Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee is seeking a part-time Material Handler to support our Operations Department. The role involves operating electric pallet jacks and other equipment to build and stage customer orders, ensuring accuracy and quality in a climate-controlled warehouse.

Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or equivalent and experience with ride-on equipment; reach truck experience is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with ride-on powered material handling equipment preferred.
• Reach truck experience required.

Responsibilities

• Operate warehouse equipment (electric pallet jack, ride-on pallet jack) to build customer orders and stage them.
• Perform order fulfilment duties accurately and efficiently with focus on safety and productivity.
• Ensure correct product counts and types are pulled; use handheld scanners for verification.
• Repacks and weighs orders as needed and reports quality variances.
• Submit paperwork legibly, accurately, and completely.
• Maintain clean facilities and uphold food safety standards through proper equipment use and daily cleaning.
• Establish cooperative working relationships with coworkers, drivers, and the public; communicate professionally.
• Other duties as assigned.
