Qualifications

• Certification or recertification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within three months of hire.
• One year of experience as a Registered Radiographer. Registry eligible in mammography.
• Preferred: Bachelors of Science degree (BS).
• Preferred: ARRT certification in mammography with 15 CE credits per three years; preferred: 1 year mammography including 3D mammography.

Responsibilities

• Performs and records the results of quality assurance and quality control procedures.
• Assists Radiologist with biopsies and needle localizations.
• Determines whether a mammogram is screening or diagnostic study.
• Performs mammography examinations and educates patients about hospital services.
• Obtains patient history and explains exam scope to patient and family.
• Monitors safety and comfort of patient during the exam.
