Job summary

Pelican Realty Capital is seeking a dependable Part-Time Maintenance Technician to join our apartment community team in Siler City, NC. The ideal candidate will perform routine maintenance, repairs, and unit turnovers while delivering excellent resident service.

This hands-on role requires the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain a safe, clean property. Flexible 10–20 hour weeks with on-call duties may apply; HVAC/EPA certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Previous apartment maintenance or general maintenance experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, painting, and appliance repair.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and complete repairs efficiently.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
  • HVAC certification, EPA Certification, or other maintenance certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and repair work in occupied and vacant apartment homes.
  • Complete work orders promptly and professionally.
  • Prepare vacant units for new residents, including painting, cleaning, and minor repairs.
  • Repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, doors, windows, locks, drywall, flooring, and other building components.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on building systems and common areas.
  • Inspect the property regularly to identify maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Maintain the grounds, parking areas, and common spaces as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance inventory.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, management, and vendors.
