Job summary

Hastings Public Schools is seeking a Recess & Lunchroom Aide for Kennedy Elementary. The role involves supervising students during meals, managing lunchroom operations, and assisting with playground and library supervision as needed.

The position supports a paraprofessional master contract with compensation at $21.47 per hour; nonexempt with benefits including health, dental, life insurance, and LTD. Shift runs 11:00am-1:30pm.

Responsibilities

• Supervises students in the cafeteria during mealtime.
• Ensures tables and surrounding areas are clean.
• Supervises playground and classroom during lunch hour.
• Assists with student food purchases, distribution of food, disposal of waste, and return of trays.
• Monitors students to remain seated in assigned areas.
• Circulates among tables to assist as needed.
• Organizes student groups for orderly dismissal from the cafeteria.
• Assists with supervising students in libraries and escorting to buses.
• Reports infractions or safety concerns to staff as appropriate.
• Performs other related tasks as assigned.
