Job summary

Benchmark Senior Living is seeking a Cook to join the team and make a difference in residents’ lives by preparing delicious and healthy meals in accordance with applicable standards and Benchmark policies. The Food Services Director oversees duties to ensure quality food service at all times, with schedule-stabilizing hours and a focus on work-life balance.

• Culinary Arts training preferred.
• 2 years of dietary experience.
• Knowledge of dietary procedures, as well as related laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to food service operations.
• Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Primarily a standing position; may stand in one place for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assures all dietary procedures are followed.
• Operate all kitchen equipment safely and effectively (meat slicer, food processor, mixers, ovens, grills, steamers, dishwasher, dumb waiter, warmer cabinets).
• Assists in establishing food production line to ensure meals are prepared on time.
• Represents the community with a positive attitude and pride when interacting with potential residents and families.
• Prepares and serves nutritious meals, ensuring high-quality presentation and flavorful meals for residents.
