Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years of age.
• Must be a strong swimmer.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours and hours outside the normal work day, and be available to work as scheduled based upon the need of the department.
• Must have the ability to diligently guard the safety of Community Center patrons.
• Must have the ability to learn about the Community Center equipment.
• Must have the ability to learn internal rock climbing techniques and equipment and be able to supervise patrons who participate in the activity.
• Demonstrated professionalism, communication and customer service skills required.

Responsibilities

• Surveil patrons in pool area and enforce pool rules under supervision.
• Provide emergency care within lifeguard training until EMS arrives.
• Teach swimming classes and supervise rock wall activities.
• Perform janitorial duties for pool area, locker rooms, weight room and gym.
• Open/close pools and set up for daily events.
• Notify repairs or safety concerns and complete records and reports.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with colleagues.
• Follow safety rules and procedures.
• Other related duties as assigned.
