Job summary

The City of Concord’s Recreation Services Department is seeking people to join the Aquatics Program at Concord Community Pool. These part-time roles will involve lifeguarding, teaching water-safety courses, and leading swim classes with pay ranging from $17.22 to $19.48 per hour, plus a $1 differential for teaching classes.

Positions require working at least 20 hours per week, various shifts including early mornings, evenings and weekends, and completing Lifeguard Training.

Qualifications

• Current and preventative lifeguarding techniques.
• Rules and regulations of an aquatic facility.
• Swimming rescue techniques, CPR, and first aid.
• Instruction techniques and materials related to aquatic activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide water safety through lifeguarding and supervision of Concord Community Pool.
• Organize, coordinate, conduct, and instruct water safety courses for all ages.
• Lead and teach beginning to advanced swimming classes; monitor and report issues.
• Inspect and maintain equipment; report malfunctions to staff.
• Take incident and training reports; participate in weekly in-service trainings.
