Animal Emergency Center of Yorktown is seeking a Part-Time Licensed Veterinary Technician to support veterinarians with patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting in Yorktown, VA.

The ideal candidate will hold an active veterinary technician license, have strong client communication, and be able to perform radiographic positioning, anesthesia, and surgical monitoring. Evening shifts Tue & Fri 5:15p–12:30a and a comprehensive benefits package are included.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician with an active license required.
• 1+ year professional experience preferred but not required.
• Students actively enrolled in an AVMA accredited Veterinary Technology program nearing graduation or recently graduated will be considered.

Responsabilités

• Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases.
• Administration of medications and communication of treatment plans with clients.
• Surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Part-Time Licensed Veterinary Technician

• Full-time
• Compensation: from USD 25 - hourly

Animal Emergency Center of Yorktown is an emergency / urgent care hospital in Yorktown, VA. Our technician and support team are tenured and highly capable of supporting our veterinarians with any patient needs that come through our doors! *This position is a part-time position that will include Tuesday & Friday evening shifts from 5:15p - 12:30a.*

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

We're Looking For:

• A Licensed Veterinary Technician with anactive license required, 1+ year professional experience preferred but not required.
  • Students actively enrolled in an AVMA accredited Veterinary Technology program that are nearing graduation or that have recently graduatedwill also be considered!
• Sunday swing shift availability is required for this position.
• Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts.
• Excellent client communication and medical record management skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations.
• Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques.
• Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens.
• Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture.
• Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring.
• Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards.

Pay Range:Starting at $25/hr. based on experience level
