About Us:

The 911 Wellness Group provides compassionate, effective and necessary mental health services to active and retired members of Northern Illinois’ First Responder community – Law Enforcement, Firefighters, Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), Emergency Telecommunicators, US Military/Veterans, their families, and agencies.

We are currently seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Psychologist (PsyD or PhD) to join as an independent contractor, offering flexible hours and a supportive, collaborative environment.

Position Summary:

The LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, PsyD, or PhD will provide high-quality clinical care through individual, group, family therapy, and wellness visits. This role is ideal for a compassionate, motivated clinician who values flexibility, autonomy, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of our First Responder community.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical mental health counseling to a diverse caseload
  • Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions
  • Conduct wellness visits for first responders
  • Option to conduct group therapy sessions
  • PsyD and PhD holders may conduct evaluations (fitness for duty, preemployment, FOID, neuropsychological)
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members
  • Participate in team meetings, supervision, or case consultations

Qualifications:

  • Active Illinois LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, PsyD, or Psychology PhD license
  • Master’s or doctoral degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Passion for helping others and promoting mental health equity

Preferred Experience (not required):

  • Familiarity with EMR systems
  • Experience with telehealth platforms
  • Prior experience with First Responder or veteran communities
