Job summary

Salina Public Library in Salina, KS, is seeking a Clerk who delivers high-quality, friendly, professional service. This role supports patrons, processes materials, issues library cards, and answers questions, while promoting library programs and services.

Part-time position with 13-16 hours weekly, evenings 5-8pm and weekend shifts. Starting pay is $15.79 per hour, with a wage level system and paid training opportunities; benefits include PTO after one year.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Customer service experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, sort, clean, repair, and check-in materials returned to the library.
• Monitor self-check stations and check out materials.
• Issue library cards and answer customer questions.
• Operate a multi-line phone system and use Library Catalog software.
• Develop yearly goals with department head and support library programs.
• Maintain tidy library spaces and adhere to policies.
