Job summary

I-2-I Solutions is seeking qualified part-time technicians to support Legionella environmental water sampling at VA healthcare facilities across VISN 6. The role includes collecting potable water and cooling tower samples, performing field measurements, and ensuring accurate documentation.

Sampling assignments cover seven VA Medical Centers in VA and NC. Travel between facilities in both states is strongly preferred, with activities scheduled quarterly and occasional follow-up sampling as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to assigned VA facilities.
• Experience with field sampling in environmental programs preferred.
• Ability to work independently with strong documentation skills.
• Comfort with travel across VA Medical Centers in VA and NC.

Responsibilities

• Perform Legionella sampling per VA Directive 1061 and CDC guidance.
• Collect potable water and cooling tower samples from healthcare facilities.
• Measure field parameters (temperature, chlorine residual, pH).
• Maintain chain-of-custody and document samples electronically.
• Coordinate sampling schedules with VA personnel and site access.
• Pack and ship samples to the laboratory and ensure proper labeling.
