RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching & Learning
  • Undertake teaching and teaching-related duties, such as designing, preparing, and developing teaching materials.
  • Conduct classes/lectures, tutorials, and practicals; engage in consultations with students; perform invigilation, marking, and assessment.
  • Establish and maintain high standards of teaching and effective learning to meet the University’s teaching and learning expectations.
Administration and Other Activities
  • Undertake and contribute to administrative responsibilities, including attending departmental meetings and participating in committees and working groups within the Department, School, and Faculty.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Candidate must have a minimum Master Degree in Directing, Theatre, Film, Performing Arts, or a related field or a Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years of related work experience in the subject taught or equivalent professional experience may be considered in exceptional cases.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in teaching directing at a tertiary level.
  • Demonstrated professional experience as a director in theatre, film, television, or other relevant production settings.
  • Experience in curriculum development and academic administration is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of directing principles and practices, including storytelling, visual composition, actor direction, blocking, and staging.
  • Ability to teach diverse directing approaches and practices, across relevant forms such as theatre, film, television, and other screen or performance-based media.
  • Experience in production planning, rehearsal direction, script interpretation, or working with creative and production teams is preferred.
  • Knowledge of dramaturgy, narrative development, performance analysis, and production processes relevant to directing.
