Job summary

AdventHealth South Overland Park is seeking a Laboratory Assistant I – Part-Time to support phlebotomy, specimen processing, and clerical tasks in the laboratory.

You will perform a range of lab support duties, ensure timely processing of specimens, and maintain compliance with safety and quality standards while delivering excellent customer service to patients and staff. This role is part-time (16 hours weekly) in Overland Park, KS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Lab environment experience preferred.
• Technical/vocational training and phlebotomy training are advantageous.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn EHR/LIS systems.

Responsibilities

• Collect venipuncture and capillary specimens for patients of all ages.
• Process, label, centrifuge, store, and transport specimens per protocols.
• Perform point-of-care testing and maintain instrument quality checks.
• Provide receptionist support and assist laboratory customers and staff.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, cleanliness and comply with safety policies.
