Job summary

Picnic seeks a Kitchen Ambassador to serve as the on-site representative inside our cloud kitchen facilities in Washington DC. You will ensure orders move accurately and efficiently from kitchen partners to courier pickup, working directly with kitchen operators to coordinate flow and staging for timely delivery.

This part-time, on-site role emphasizes organization, clear communication, and hands-on support during lunch rush, with opportunities to grow into shift coordination or training roles

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills, in person and digital.
• Leadership experience or interest is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stay on your feet.
• Comfort working in kitchen or food production environments.
• Experience in food service, kitchen operations, or logistics is helpful but not required.
• IPhone or Android smartphone.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate directly with kitchen operators to receive completed orders.
• Verify, sort, and stage orders accurately for courier pickup.
• Move orders to designated pickup zones and delivery racks.
• Ensure orders are labeled, organized, and ready on time.
• Act as the primary Picnic point of contact for kitchen staff.
• Communicate real time updates between kitchens, drivers, and Picnic operations.
• Maintain clean, organized staging areas and support lunch rush operations.
• Identify bottlenecks and elevate issues as needed.
• Help onboard and support courier drivers at kitchen level.
• Provide feedback to operations leadership on kitchen workflow improvements.
• Potentially take on shift coordination or training support as needed.
