Qualifications

• Food service or kitchen experience preferred, but not required.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to follow directions, manage multiple tasks, and work efficiently.
• Willingness to perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods, lifting supplies, and cleaning.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.
• Positive attitude and genuine heart for serving children.
• Ability to meet applicable childcare licensing and background check requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist Kitchen Manager with daily meal prep, setup, and service.
• Prepare and portion food according to menus and procedures.
• Wash dishes, sanitize surfaces, and maintain a clean and orderly kitchen and cafeteria.
• Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing food and kitchen supplies.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines.
• Help ensure meals are served efficiently and on schedule.
• Assist with kitchen cleanup and other duties as assigned.
• Demonstrate a positive, helpful attitude that reflects Morning Star Academy's Christian mission and values.
