Santa Fe College's Upward Bound is a federally funded program designed to provide first generation and/or low-income high school students in Bradford High School with the academic skills and motivation necessary to succeed in their pre-college studies. The program's focus is high school success, persistence and college going culture.
The Upward Bound Part‑time Senior Instructional Specialist is responsible for providing supplemental instruction support and homework help to students in a variety of subjects including English (Reading and Writing), Mathematics, History, Social Science, the Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), Foreign Languages (Spanish), and Computer Technologies. The schedule includes two Saturdays each month.
Applicants must have a strong work ethic, a passion for helping students, and a commitment to academic success for educationally disadvantaged youth. A flexible schedule is required to accommodate the needs of the Upward Bound program. The instructor must be skilled in the assigned academic discipline of instruction and be able to deliver a high level of interactive classroom instruction.
