Job summary

CSN, part of the Nevada System of Higher Education, seeks part-time Philosophy instructors for courses (PHIL 102) across Clark County campuses.

Master’s in Philosophy (Ph.D. preferred) with at least 18 graduate credits in the subject from a regionally accredited college is required. Salary is $925.00 per credit hour, varies by semester.

These are as-needed positions; applications reviewed based on course availability. Teaching days may include day, evening, or weekend sessions.

CSN is looking to hire part-time instructors to teach Philosophy courses (mostly PHIL 102, Introduction to Critical Thinking).

Core Responsibilities

• Teach college-level courses in the field.
• Develop syllabi and course materials.
• Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes.
• Provide an excellent teaching experience as well as student advisement, recruitment activities and program/curriculum development.
• Teach at multiple campuses in Clark County.
• Be available to teach day, evening and/or weekend courses.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Philosophy (Ph.D. preferred) from a regionally accredited college or university with at least 18 graduate credits in the subject being taught (also from a regionally accredited college or university).

Salary

$925.00 per credit hour. Courses/Credits assigned may vary by semester.
