Position Summary:

The Office of Continuing Education seeks a dedicated, experienced professional to join as a Part-Time Instructor. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in NICET certificates in Highway Construction Inspection, Soil, Asphalt, or Concrete Testing. This position involves teaching and updating the curriculum to meet NICET testing requirements.


Summary of Duties:
  • Deliver quality instruction in Highway Construction Inspection, Soil, Asphalt, or Concrete Testing courses with the approved curriculum. Develop and update course materials to reflect current industry standards and practices.
  • Collaborate with the department and industry partners to design and enhance existing curriculum that meets the needs of students and aligns with NICET certification requirements.
  • Stay current with advancements in Construction.

Required/Minimum Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • NICET certification in Highway Construction Inspection, Soil, Asphalt, or Concrete Testing.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and industry partners.
  • Ability to work with a diverse student population.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Previous teaching experience, ideally at the college level.
  • Proficiency with online video conferencing tools.
  • Experience working in an urban community college setting.
