Elemental Hardware Enrichment is seeking an Instructor to deliver hands-on, project-based programs for youth ages 5–14. You’ll lead activities across DIY Builders, DIY Makers, and Grow-It-Yourself, guiding learning and SEL goals in collaboration with site staff.
You will work afternoons, coordinate with partner sites across Ventura County, and provide feedback to leadership on program quality. Travel and ongoing training are part of the role, with onboarding processes detailed in the program.

Instructors play a critical role in delivering youth empowerment through hands-on activities and social and emotional learning. As an Instructor with Elemental Hardware, you will use your classroom management skills to engage students in a variety of project-based learning experiences that expose them to unique career pathway options.
You will master delivering different hands-on programs and lessons we offer across our program lines (current programs: DIY Builders, DIY Makers, and Grow-It-Yourself) and provide critical insight and feedback from the classroom that informs leadership on program health, quality, and opportunities to improve.
As part of a school site team you may work alongside other Elemental Hardware staff as well as partner staff to supervise youth during transitions, snack, dismissal, and homework help as well as support the overall organization of the school site. In the classroom, you are primarily working independently with groups of up to 20 students.
After each class, during team meetings, and in professional development opportunities, you will share vital feedback and insights that will directly influence the quality and content of our programs and training. Instructors may also have opportunities to participate in community events (some travel required).
This role reports to the Program Supervisor. Instructors must have shift availability primarily in the afternoons and the ability to travel between partner sites throughout Ventura County.
Onboarding consists of:
Ongoing training (both online and in-person) as well as regular team meetings and development conversations with your manager will be required throughout employment.
We expect onboarding and training to take anywhere between 2 - 8 weeks depending on your level of experience, scheduling availability, speed of comprehension, and passing on the above-mentioned assessments. Onboarding and training is fully paid at $20 / hour. Upon completing your onboarding and training, your compensation will be re-evaluated based on experience and performance between the range of $21 - $24 per hour.
