Job summary

The Arthur J. Glatfelter YMCA in York, PA, is looking for an energetic Cycling Instructor to lead engaging indoor cycling classes that help members improve cardiovascular fitness and overall health.

This part-time role requires current CPR/AED/First Aid and relevant fitness certifications, with a schedule that includes weekday mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed. You will design challenging rides, coach participants, and create an inclusive environment focused on safety and motivation.

Qualifications

• CPR, AED, and First Aid certification required.
• Indoor cycling instruction experience required.
• Experience designing and leading group fitness programming.
• Strong communication and coaching skills.
• Ability to create a positive, welcoming atmosphere while maintaining safety.
• Experience with scheduling/club management software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe, engaging indoor cycling classes for varied fitness levels.
• Design and deliver challenging rides to improve endurance and strength.
• Provide modifications and coaching cues for participant success and safety.
• Create an inclusive, motivating environment to drive engagement.
• Monitor participants for proper technique and equipment setup.
• Prepare, inspect, and maintain bikes and studio equipment.
• Track attendance and complete class documentation accurately.
• Use scheduling/club management software as needed.
• Follow YMCA safety standards and risk-management practices.
