Job summary

EK Health Services is seeking a Legal Nurse Consultant (LNC) to support attorneys in injury cases. This independent contractor role is part-time and home-based.

You will review medical records, synthesize information, and prepare timelines, with emphasis on accuracy, HIPAA compliance, and professional communication.

Requirements include RN license, LNC certification, and 5+ years of related experience; strong writing, interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• RN license in good standing with no restrictions.
• LNC certification required; med-legal coursework preferred.
• 5+ years' experience in a similar or related role preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Review and summarize medical records, communicating highlights to parties.
• Determine long-term medical requirements and estimate costs for care.
• Prepare chronologies or timelines for medical records.
• Be objective and honest in evaluating the facts of the case.
• Research medical resources/literature related to the case as applicable.
• Locate and interview other medical experts to testify.
• Interact professionally with EKHS staff, medical community, and all customers.
• All work is within the scope of practice for a Registered Nurse.
• Other duties as assigned.
