Job summary

Preferred Care at Home of Monmouth and Ocean County is seeking compassionate Fill-in Caregivers to provide temporary in-home care and companionship for seniors and adults with disabilities. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor safety, and follow care plans, while maintaining independence and delivering flexible coverage across Monmouth, Ocean, and nearby towns.

Qualifications

• Experience in caregiving or home health preferred but training is provided.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to help others.
• Reliable transportation to travel to client homes in Toms River and surrounding areas.
• Background check clearance and state-required certifications as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home care tailored to each client’s needs, including personal care and companionship.
• Offer companionship and emotional support to reduce loneliness.
• Ensure client safety by monitoring the home and reporting changes to the care team.
• Assist with medication reminders and basic health monitoring as directed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and observations.
• Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and the team to ensure seamless service.
• Be available to cover shifts on short notice to support regular caregivers.
