Job summary

SDAC is seeking an HVAC Mechanic (Part-Time) to perform preventative maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on commercial HVAC systems. The role includes responding to service requests, performing BAS checks, and installing equipment, with emphasis on safety and customer service.

The position requires five years of HVAC experience, licensing, and certifications (CFC, NATE, KA TE). Strong English communication and the ability to work flexible hours, including some after-hours emergencies, are

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working on HVAC systems and equipment.
• Extensive knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning maintenance and repairs.
• Ability to diagnose refrigeration systems, air distribution systems and equipment controls.
• State/area-specific HVAC licensing may be required.
• Universal CFC Certification.
• NATE Core Service plus KA TE Specialty or similar certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Communicate effectively in English (speaking and writing).
• Advanced HVAC training and manufacturer training.
• Able to work Monday-Friday with occasional overtime for emergencies.
• U.S. Citizen or approved registered alien.
• Ability to pass drug screening and Federal background check.
• HVAC Excellence and UA Star certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors, troubleshoots, and repairs/replaces HVAC equipment, systems, and BAS controls.
• Completes BAS checks as required.
• Installs HVAC equipment parts and systems.
• Performs preventative maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment (chillers, heat pumps, etc.).
• Works safely and reports safety issues to supervisor.
• Maintains tools and inventory of supplies.
• May respond to after-hours emergency calls.
• Performs other duties related to building operations as directed.
